plafonnier-carre-cage-metal-noir-marbre-poli-caged-4-0
Ceiling Light Fixture | CAGED (4.0)

The Caged 4.0 ceiling light by Buster + Punch is a square cage in matte black metal, fixed beneath a polished marble panel, which brings together 4 exposed bulbs. It measures 50 cm per side and 53 cm high, takes 4 E27 bulbs and comes in 2 finishes, black marble and white marble.

A square ceiling light in matte black metal

The structure of this square ceiling light is a steel cage, in a matte black finish. It drops 53 cm and outlines an open volume measuring 50 cm per side. Nothing hides the bulbs: they can be seen through the uprights, from anywhere in the room.

At the center, 4 lamp holders are set very close to one another on the panel. Each is knurled and finished in matte black, with the cross knurling, called Cross, a raised grid pattern in the metal. The brand's exposed screws complete the design.

This black ceiling light does not try to go unnoticed. Its proportions make it the statement piece of a ceiling, whether on or off. It therefore needs space around it to be shown to full advantage.

Ceiling light in black marble or white marble

The panel fixed against the ceiling is a square slab of polished marble. It is what carries the lamp holders and serves as the backdrop to this marble ceiling light, just above the bulbs. Marble is a natural stone, and its veining changes from one slab to the next.

In black marble, the light fixture forms a dark whole, in which the stone and the cage merge. In white marble, the black structure stands out against a pale background and the contrast is sharper. The panel is interchangeable: the brand designed it so that it can be replaced.

The mounting must be suited to the type of ceiling, and mounting hardware is not included. The brand's instructions specify that it cannot be installed on drywall alone: it must be anchored in a load-bearing support.

Which E27 bulbs for the Caged 4.0 ceiling light?

The light fixture takes 4 LED E27 bulbs, of 5 W maximum each. They are not included. It was designed for the Buster Bulb Tube by Buster + Punch, a tubular LED bulb sold separately.

Plan for 4 identical bulbs, for even light and a clean look. As they remain visible, their shape and color tone matter as much as their light. They are part of the light fixture just as much as the cage.

The ceiling light works with a dimmer, provided you fit compatible bulbs. The Buster Bulb Tube is available in a dimmable version. The dimmer is not included.

Where to install this ceiling light fixture?

This ceiling light fixture is designed as the centerpiece of a space. It goes above a dining room table, in the middle of a living room or in a wide hallway. At 53 cm high, it requires a ceiling high enough to leave the passage clear underneath.

It is mounted directly against the ceiling. For a very high ceiling, the Caged extension kit, sold separately, lengthens the drop of the light fixture. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Frequently asked questions about the Caged 4.0 ceiling light

How many bulbs does the Caged 4.0 ceiling light need?

It needs 4 LED E27 bulbs, of 5 W maximum each.
