Wall Sconce | FILLAN 1 (Black)

The Fillan 1 wall sconce from Sollux Lighting is a black light fixture whose slim steel arm curves downward to carry a smoked glass globe with hollowed facets. It measures 25 cm long, 15 cm wide and 29 cm high, and takes an E27 bulb.

A smoked glass wall sconce with deep reflections

The globe features several round hollows that distort the reflections like a drop of water. Switched off, it reflects the room. Switched on, it reveals the bulb in a gray halo.

On this smoked glass wall sconce, the tint of the globe slightly dims the brightness. The light is gentler on the eyes and the atmosphere more subdued, ideal for the evening.

The bend of the arm places the globe at a distance from the wall. The light thus illuminates the wall behind it and draws a soft halo on it.

A black wall sconce with an elegant silhouette

The slim, curved arm suspends the globe in front of the wall and highlights its sculptural shape. The 8 cm base remains discreet. On this black wall sconce, all the attention goes to the 15 cm globe and the design of the arm.

The black matches dark joinery, metal frames and furniture with restrained lines. The smoked glass adds a more refined note, at home in a modern or minimalist interior.

As a pair, smoked globes repeated at the same height give the wall a regular rhythm. Then check that the 2 arms point in the same direction, so that the globes stay properly aligned.

Where to install this sconce for a living room or bedroom?

In a living room, this living room sconce is placed on each side of a low piece of furniture or a sofa. It frames the area with a subdued light, pleasant during a movie.

In a bedroom, above the nightstands, this wall sconce offers a soft light for the end of the day. In a kitchen or a dining room, a pair of sconces near the table brings a very friendly bistro atmosphere.

In a dark hallway, a series of sconces creates a succession of small subdued sources that give rhythm to the passage. Fillan 1 provides accent lighting, to complement the main lighting of the room.

Which E27 bulb for a smoked glass globe?

The lamp holder takes 1 E27 bulb, LED, 15 W maximum, not included. Since the glass is tinted, a fairly bright bulb compensates for the dimming effect of the globe.

A bulb with a visible filament emphasizes the retro spirit and creates attractive reflections in the hollows of the glass. Avoid bulbs that are too large, which would touch the walls of the globe. The light fixture is rated IP20, so it is intended for dry rooms only. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

For maintenance, switch off the power and let the bulb cool down. Clean the glass with a soft, slightly damp cloth and the arm with a dry cloth.
