Wall Sconce | DUOMO

The Duomo wall sconce by Sollux Lighting is a black steel light fixture whose slim, angled arm carries a completely exposed bulb. It sits on a round 8 cm base and takes an E27 bulb.

A black wall sconce with a minimalist design

This black wall sconce is reduced to the essentials: a small base, a black line that extends outward and then drops down, and a lamp holder. All the attention goes to the bulb at its end. It becomes an object in its own right.

Duomo takes up almost no visual space. It fits where a bulkier light fixture would look cumbersome, on a narrow stretch of wall or between 2 doors. The 8 cm base stays discreet.

Black steel suits modern, minimalist interiors. On a light wall, it draws a crisp line of contrast. On a brick or raw concrete wall, it takes on a workshop look.

Exposed bulb wall sconce: what kind of light does it give?

On an exposed bulb wall sconce, the light is not filtered by any shade. It radiates freely around the bulb and lights the wall with a halo. The room gains a warm point of light.

The bulb therefore sets the mood. An opal globe bulb softens the light and gives Duomo a contemporary look. An amber filament bulb strengthens the retro character and gives off a warm glow.

Duomo provides supplementary light, to complement a ceiling light or a pendant light. When the wall sconce sits at eye level, choose a frosted bulb, which is gentler on the eyes.

Where to install this designer wall sconce?

In a bedroom, this designer wall sconce goes above a bedside table. It replaces the table lamp and frees up the furniture for a book or an alarm clock. A pair on each side of the bed creates a simple symmetry.

In a hallway, this wall sconce works very well in a series. Aligned at a regular height, several of them set a rhythm along the wall and guide the way with a succession of small points of light.

In a living room, it frames a mirror or a painting. In a dining room or an office, it provides supplementary light near a shelf or a sideboard.

Which E27 bulb for this steel wall sconce?

This steel wall sconce takes 1 E27 LED bulb of 15 W maximum, not included. For ambient lighting, a lower wattage is more than enough and avoids glare. When several wall sconces follow one another, keep the same bulb model throughout.

Before installation, check that the chosen bulb will not touch the wall once screwed in. A large-diameter globe needs more clearance than a standard bulb. The light fixture is rated IP20, so it is intended for dry rooms only. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

For maintenance, switch off the power and let the bulb cool down. Then wipe the steel with a dry cloth and the bulb with a microfiber cloth.
