Bedside Lamp | BOND

The BOND table lamp by Sans Souci sets two glass volumes on a discreet base, one convex and one concave, fitted together around a light source. Designed by Martin Opl, it reflects the room by day and lights up from within in the evening. Compact, it finds its place on a bedside table, a desk, a console table or a side table.

A designer table lamp with a double glass disc

The principle that made the BOND collection known comes down to two pieces of glass facing each other, with the light born between the two. This designer table lamp takes up this double disc and stands it on a polished stainless steel base, slim enough to go unnoticed.

Switched off, it behaves like a tinted mirror in which the room and the daylight are reflected. Switched on, it reveals its luminous core through the glass. The lamp therefore never shows quite the same face, from morning to evening.

A sandblasted glass lamp with metallic reflections

The clear glass is sandblasted on its inner face, which softens the light and hides the bulb. A metallic nano-coating then gives it its mirror shine. This glass lamp comes in 3 finishes: Silver for a contemporary look, Gold for a warm atmosphere, Rose for a softer note.

Each piece of glass is shaped by hand in the Czech Republic by the glassmakers of Sans Souci. Slight variations in shape and tint are therefore normal and are part of the charm of each piece.

Where should you place this 39 cm tall bedside lamp?

The lamp measures 31.4 cm in diameter and 39 cm in height. Allow for a piece of furniture deep enough to hold it and leave a little space around the glass so the reflections can come through. It comes with a 180 cm cable, long enough to reach an outlet without an extension cord in most setups.

On a nightstand, this designer bedside lamp replaces a classic lamp with a glass object that is as much to be looked at as it is a source of light. On an entryway console table, it creates a luminous welcome. On a desk or a side table, it provides soft accent lighting.

It also coordinates with the BOND wall sconce, ceiling light and pendant light, which feature the same double glass disc. You thus find the same glasswork throughout the room.

A dimmable mood lamp with warm light

The lamp works with a 5 W LED bulb with a G9 base, included, which gives off a warm 2700 K light, softened by the sandblasted glass. This mood lamp is dimmable, so you can adapt it to the time of day: brighter for reading, more subdued late in the evening.

It plugs into a wall outlet, with no special installation: simply set it down and plug it in. Its IP20 protection rating makes it suitable for the dry rooms of the home.
