Wall Sconce | MODO

The Modo wall sconce by Sollux Lighting is a matte lacquered aluminum disc, set against the wall like a flat pebble, that casts its light upward and downward, in 14 colors. It measures 10 cm long, 12 cm wide and 6 cm deep, and takes a GX53 bulb.

An extra-flat wall sconce that keeps the passage clear

In a narrow hallway, the thickness of a fixture makes all the difference. At just 6 cm deep, this extra-flat wall sconce keeps the passage clear, even when 2 people pass each other.

Along a bed, it no longer gets in the way when you get up. Behind a door, the leaf opens fully.

Its small size opens up difficult locations: on either side of a narrow mirror, in a niche or between 2 closely spaced doors. The object reads as a disc set against the wall, not as an added appliance.

A minimalist design that suits every interior

The circle and the matte finish place this model on the side of minimalist design. It goes with a modern interior without adding any pattern to it.

On a smooth plaster or polished concrete wall, it almost disappears and shows only its 2 halos. In an old apartment, next to moldings and a herringbone parquet floor, the contrast works too.

The light does not come out of the front. It bounces off the wall and guides the eye, without glare. The flat GX53 bulb gives an even light.

14 colors: which shade to choose?

White and beige fade into a light wall. This is the choice to make when the fixture should not be noticed at all.

Taupe and black play the opposite role. This black wall sconce places a dark, crisp point on a pale wall, and works very well as a pair. Brown, ochre red and burgundy answer to warm woods and lime plaster.

Ultramarine, olive green, sage, pink, yellow, red and azure blue are best used at 1 piece per room. Beyond that, the color stops being an accent and becomes a pattern.

Where to install this sconce for a bedroom or hallway?

This bedroom sconce goes on either side of the bed. 2 pieces replace the bedside lamps and leave the nightstands completely free. Place it lower than eye level, so that the light falls on the book and not on the face.

In a hallway, line up 2 or 3 sconces, evenly spaced. In a living room, this wall sconce frames the sofa or the bookcase and gives accent lighting for the evening. In a dining room or a kitchen, 1 piece above a console or a dining nook is enough to warm the wall.

Modo takes 1 GX53 LED bulb of 10 W maximum, not included. The fixture is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. For maintenance, switch off the power, then wipe the matte lacquer with a soft, dry cloth.
