Wall Sconce | ATENA

The Atena wall sconce by Sollux Lighting is a half-moon in ceramic or concrete that lights upward and downward. It comes in 25, 30 or 40 cm lengths, in white or gray, and takes one E27 bulb.

A half-moon sconce with indirect light

This half-moon sconce takes the silhouette of architect sconces and translates it into matte materials. Its curve echoes the straight lines of doors and windows. On a long wall, it introduces a soft line that calms the composition of the room.

The light escapes from the top and the bottom. This indirect lighting draws a halo above the curve and another toward the floor. Switched off, Atena keeps the presence of a small sculpted relief.

Ceramic or concrete sconce: which model to choose?

The white ceramic sconce comes in 3 lengths: 25, 30 and 40 cm. The 25 and 30 cm models suit a bedroom, a narrow hallway or a series installation. The 40 cm model dresses a large living room wall and produces a wide halo.

The 40 cm model also comes in gray ceramic and gray concrete. The concrete sconce shows a raw surface with a mineral character. It suits modern interiors and more rugged decors.

On the 40 cm model in white ceramic, a frosted glass closes the underside and softens the downward light. The white blends into a light wall, while the gray stands out with a soft contrast.

Wall sconce for a hallway, living room or bedroom: where to install it?

In a living room with light walls, this large-format wall sconce creates a soft point of light above a console. In a dining room, it highlights the main wall and complements the pendant light placed above the table.

Used as a hallway wall sconce, it is installed in a series and forms a succession of glowing half-moons. In a bedroom, it replaces the bedside lamp with restful lighting. It also finds its place in an office or a kitchen.

For a series, align the sconces carefully. The curve reveals the slightest difference in height.

Which E27 bulb for this sconce?

Atena works with 1 LED E27 bulb of 15 W maximum, not included. A warm white light gives the ceramic a cream tint and warms the concrete. For the small sizes, choose a short bulb that does not protrude beyond the curve.

In a series, install the same bulb everywhere, because the shape of the halos depends on the power and the tint chosen. The light fixture is rated IP20, so it is intended for dry rooms only. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

For maintenance, switch off the power and let the bulb cool. A soft brush is enough to dust the ceramic and the concrete, and the glass can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
