The Leo wall sconce by Sollux Lighting is a small cube set against the wall, open at the top and bottom, available in white ceramic, grooved white ceramic or gray concrete. The ceramic versions are 14 cm per side, the concrete version 12 cm long by 10 cm high, and all take an E27 bulb.
A cube wall sconce with a graphic effect
The openings at the top and bottom draw 2 trapezoid-shaped beams on the wall. This geometric play of light gives a plain wall a lot of character.
This cube wall sconce stays compact. It lends itself equally well to a single installation or to a series arrangement. Its simple volume fits effortlessly into a modern interior.
Placed in a staggered pattern or at different heights, several sconces compose an original pattern of light. A section of wall then becomes a real decor.
Ceramic, grooved ceramic or concrete: which version to choose?
Leo in white ceramic has a smooth, matte front. It blends into a white wall so that only the light beams remain visible. Its housing can also be painted with ordinary wall paint, in the color of your choice.
Leo Line, also in white ceramic, has a horizontal groove cut into its front. When lit, this slit draws an additional line of light in the middle of the cube. It is the most decorative version.
The concrete sconce in gray shows a mineral texture and small surface irregularities. More compact, it suits raw atmospheres. The 3 versions share the same geometric spirit and can be combined in the same home.
Indirect lighting upward and downward
The source is hidden in the cube. This indirect lighting stays comfortable: you can walk right past the sconce without glare. The 2 beams highlight the wall and leave the rest of the room in a softer light.
A warm white makes the ceramic and concrete feel warmer. For a passageway, a neutral white gives more functional lighting. For maintenance, switch off the power, then dust the ceramic and concrete with a dry brush.
Check that each cube is perfectly straight before the final tightening. The edges of the beams immediately reveal a slightly tilted sconce. For a staggered arrangement, first mark the pattern in pencil.
Where to install this sconce for a hallway or living room?
This hallway sconce is mounted in a row. White ceramic cubes spaced evenly create a frieze of light that visually lengthens the passage.
In a living room, a group of concrete cubes arranged in a staggered pattern makes a very graphic installation above the sofa. In a bedroom, 2 sconces on either side of the headboard bring a soft ambient light. In a dining room or a kitchen, this wall sconce adds a warm point of light on a narrow wall.
Each version takes 1 E27 LED bulb of 15 W maximum, not included. Prefer a short bulb, which fits entirely inside the cube. The light fixture is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
