Ceiling Light Fixture | SKALA 100 (Black)

A black ceiling light with a fabric shade

Skala 100 surrounds its bulbs with a wide band of black fabric. This black ceiling light draws a large circle on the ceiling. It gives the room character, even when switched off, without hanging anything.

The fabric shade offers a matte, glare-free surface. The glass closes the underside of the light fixture and diffuses the light into the room. The metal frame holds everything against the ceiling.

The black echoes dark joinery, frames and furniture legs. It stands out against a white ceiling and light walls. The style is minimalist and modern.

A large round ceiling light of 100 cm

This large round ceiling light measures 100 cm in diameter. It is the largest size in the range. It is meant for living areas, large living rooms and open-plan rooms.

Its height is only 20 cm. The light fixture therefore stays close to the ceiling, whatever the room. You gain a strong visual presence without crowding the volume of the room.

Check the free space on the ceiling before ordering. The 100 cm circle must stay clear of walls, beams and tall cabinets. In a medium-sized room, a smaller diameter will be better proportioned.

Which E27 bulbs to choose?

The light fixture takes 6 LED bulbs of 15 W maximum each. The E27 bulbs are not included. You can therefore set the color and the power of the light to suit the room.

Fit 6 bulbs of the same model. The light then stays even across the whole diffuser. With 6 light sources, the ceiling light can serve as the main lighting in a large room.

A warm white light softens the contrast with the black fabric. A more neutral light suits an open kitchen or an office. Accent lamps add lower points of light in the evening.

Where to install this large living room ceiling light?

As a large living room ceiling light, it is centered above the sofa area. It balances a corner sofa, a large rug or a long low unit. It also serves as a landmark in a room open to the kitchen.

In a dining room, this ceiling light goes above a large table. In an open kitchen, it marks the dining corner. In a large bedroom or a spacious office, it provides the general lighting.

The light fixture is rated IP20, so it is reserved for dry rooms. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. A light fixture of this diameter is easier to install with 2 people. For maintenance, switch off the power, then dust the fabric with a soft brush.
