A cylindrical wooden cage in two sizes

The Roots by Maytoni comes in two sizes, 20 or 30 cm in diameter by 31 or 45 cm in height, with cables adjustable up to 300 cm. Its light natural wood slats form a light, openwork volume that hints at the light source. The small size lends itself to arrangements in series; the large one stands alone above a table or a desk.

An E27 bulb for soft light

The pendant light takes an E27 base bulb of 40 W maximum, not included. A 6 to 8 W LED bulb in warm white, around 2700 K, enhances the wood and creates a cozy atmosphere. The light escapes between the slats and casts regular lines of shadow on the walls and ceiling. A decorative filament bulb shows off the cage particularly well. It has an IP20 rating, for indoor use. Its installation must be carried out by a professional.

How to arrange the Roots pendant light

Above an island, line up three 20 cm cages 50 cm apart, with about 70 cm between their base and the countertop. Above a round table, group them at staggered heights for a lively cluster. A 30 cm cage is enough to light an office, a reading corner or a small bedroom. Combine it with the corolla, the tapered cage or the pear from the same range for a varied yet coherent composition.
