Warm and sculptural, this wooden corolla pendant light spreads slender slats that filter the light and cast plays of shadow on the ceiling and walls. It brings the softness of a natural material into a dining room, a living room or a bedroom, and turns lighting into atmosphere.

A corolla of wooden slats in three sizes

The Roots by Maytoni comes in three diameters, 43, 50 or 60 cm, with a height of about 35 cm and cables adjustable up to 300 cm. Its natural wood slats, in a light, soft shade, open like the petals of a flower. This openwork construction keeps the pendant light visually light, even in its largest version.

An E27 bulb for filtered light

The pendant light takes an E27 base bulb of 40 W maximum, not included. A 6 to 8 W LED bulb in warm white, around 2700 K, enhances the warmth of the wood. The light passes between the slats: part of it lights the table, the rest draws shadow patterns that enliven the whole room in the evening. An opal bulb gives a softer result, a filament bulb a more decorative effect. It has an IP20 rating, for indoor use. Its installation must be carried out by a professional.

How to choose the right size

The 43 cm model suits a bedroom, a reading corner or a round table for four people. The 50 cm one dresses a table for six people or a medium-sized living room. The large 60 cm model stands out above a family table or in a spacious family room. Above a table, leave about 70 to 80 cm between the bottom of the corolla and the tabletop. The 3 m cables also suit ceilings with exposed roof framing.
