Comfortable and discreet, this round recessed spotlight with a trim ring sets the bulb back to limit glare. The light source stays barely visible from the floor and the light remains gentle on the eyes, in a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen, or a hallway.

A round steel trim ring

The Yin by Maytoni measures 9.8 cm in diameter, for a cutout of 8.5 cm and a depth of only 4.5 cm, which makes it easier to fit in shallow false ceilings. Its steel body comes in black or in white, for a discreet presence on the ceiling.

A GU10 bulb of your choice

The spotlight takes a bulb with a GU10 base, not included. A 5 to 7 W LED in warm white at 2700 or 3000 K creates a soft atmosphere; a 4000 K version suits a kitchen or an office. The bulb is angled before the spotlight is put into service and is easy to replace. A 36° beam suits general lighting, a narrower beam accent lighting. The spotlight is rated IP20, for indoor use. Its installation and connection must be carried out by a professional.

How to space the Yin spotlights

For general lighting, allow about one spotlight per 1.5 to 2 m², at least 60 cm from the walls. In a bedroom, it is best to place them off the axis of the bed so that the light source is not in your eyes once you are lying down. In a hallway, line them up every 1.20 to 1.50 m. To highlight a painting, angle the bulb of a spotlight placed 60 cm from the wall.
