The Back Box wall box by Buster + Punch is a thermoplastic housing built to the European standard, designed for fitting the brand's switches and sockets in a hollow wall. It fits into a hole 6.8 cm in diameter, its fixing screws are spaced 6 cm apart, and it comes in 1, 2, 3 or 4 gang.

A wall box for hollow walls

This hollow wall box is used to recess a Buster + Punch switch or socket into a hollow partition. It sits in a round cutout made with a 68 mm hole saw, that is, 6.8 cm in diameter.

This PA6 thermoplastic housing is blue. Once the wall plate is fitted, it stays hidden inside the wall.

This box is not suitable for damp environments. The brand intends it for hollow walls and gives no guidance on fitting it in a solid wall.

European standard: hole size, screw spacing and dimensions

The Back Box is a European standard box, intended for the switches and sockets in the Buster + Punch European range. Its hole is 6.8 cm in diameter and its fixing screws are 6 cm apart, center to center.

On a multi-gang wall box, in 2, 3 or 4 gang, the center of each gang is 7.1 cm from the next. This spacing is also the distance to keep between the holes.

The box is 6.8 cm high. Its width is 6.8 cm in 1 gang, 13.9 cm in 2 gang, 21 cm in 3 gang and 28.1 cm in 4 gang.

1 to 4 gang box for Buster + Punch wall plates

Choose the box with the same number of gangs as the wall plate. A 1 gang plate requires a 1 gang wall box, a 2 gang plate a 2 gang box, and so on up to 4 gang.

The brand's plates are fitted onto a box mounted flush with the wall. This is the point to check when fixing the box into the wall. The connection of the switches and sockets must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

The box is sold on its own. Buster + Punch wall plates, modules and finishing kits are ordered separately.
