The Forked ceiling light with shade by Buster + Punch is a solid metal ceiling fixture that combines a half-sphere shade and a mouth-blown glass globe. It measures 25 cm in diameter in the medium model and 34 cm in the large model, takes 1 E27 bulb, which is included, and comes with a smoked or opal globe, in burnt steel, brass, steel or gray.
A ceiling light with a hand-shaped metal shade
This ceiling light with a metal shade is recognizable by its half-sphere. The shade is made of solid metal, hand-spun on a lathe. It is what gives the light fixture its width and its silhouette.
Above the shade, the structure is made of machined and cast solid metal, then finished by hand. It carries the cast fork to which the Forked model owes its name. The metal is also marked with diamond-cut linear knurling, the signature of Buster + Punch.
The shade does not close off the light fixture. The glass globe sits underneath it and extends below it. The metal thus covers the top of the globe, while the glass remains clearly visible.
Medium or large ceiling light: the dimensions of each size
Two sizes are available. On the medium model, the shade measures 25 cm wide and 15 cm high, and the globe 20 cm wide and 19.8 cm high. On the large model, the shade measures 34 cm wide and 20.5 cm high, and the globe 29 cm wide and 28.8 cm high.
The medium model suits medium-sized rooms and lends itself to installation in a row, above a countertop or along a hallway. The large model has more presence: this designer ceiling light sits well in the center of a room, or directly above a table. In each of the 2 cases, the ceiling rose measures 12 cm in diameter.
Smoked or opal glass globe, and its included E27 bulb
The globe is mouth-blown. The smoked glass globe has a gray tint, which filters part of the light and gives ambient lighting. The opal glass globe is white: it diffuses the light from the bulb, for soft, even lighting.
The ceiling light takes 1 LED E27 bulb of 7 W maximum, and it is included. It is designed for the Forked range and gives warm white light, at 2700 K. It is dimmable: the ceiling light therefore works with a compatible dimmer, which is not included.
Both the globe and the bulb can be replaced. The brand provides the smoked Buster Bulb Forked for a smoked globe and the opal Punch Bulb Forked for an opal globe. The replacement globe and these 2 bulbs are sold separately.
Solid metal ceiling light: burnt steel, brass, steel or gray
This solid metal ceiling light comes in 4 finishes: burnt steel, brass, steel and gray. The shade is available in each of them. The globe, for its part, keeps the chosen glass in all 4 cases.
Burnt steel is specific to the versions with a shade: the Forked ceiling lights without a shade do not offer it. Brass brings a golden tint, steel a silvery sheen and gray a darker tone.
Buster + Punch states that all its finishes develop a patina over time. For care, switch off the power, then wipe with a dry, lint-free cloth, without chemical products.
Where should you install this ceiling light with shade?
This ceiling light suits a living room, a dining room, a bedroom, a kitchen, an office, a hallway or a stairwell. As the globe hangs below the shade, check the ceiling height before installation. The range also offers it without a shade.
The light fixture is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
