Pendant Light | BOND

The BOND pendant light by Sans Souci combines two pieces of blown glass, one convex and one concave, fitted together around a light source. Created by designer Martin Opl, it reflects and transmits light differently depending on the brightness around it. Available in 4 sizes and 3 finishes, it can be hung alone or in a composition.

A designer pendant light with shifting reflections

BOND is the first collection of home light fixtures from Sans Souci, a Czech company accustomed to large glass installations. This designer pendant light carries that know-how over to the scale of a living space: two pieces of glass facing each other, and the light born between the two.

Switched off, the pendant light behaves like a tinted mirror. Switched on, its luminous core appears through the glass. The mood of the room thus evolves from morning to evening and from one season to the next, depending on the natural light.

A pendant light in blown, sandblasted and tinted glass

The glass is sandblasted on its inner face, which softens the light and conceals the bulb. On the outside, a metallic nano-coating gives it a mirror shine. This blown glass pendant light comes in 3 tints: Silver, Gold and Rose. The frame is made of polished stainless steel.

Silver extends bright, pared-back interiors. Gold warms up a wooden table or a neutral wall. Rose brings a softer shade, halfway between the two.

Each glass is shaped by hand in the Czech Republic, in the glassmaking region of North Bohemia. Slight variations in shape and tint therefore set each piece apart.

Which pendant light size should you choose: 25, 32, 40 or 50 cm?

4 sizes are available: 25 cm in diameter with a height of 35.5 cm, 31.5 cm in diameter with a height of 42 cm, 40 cm in diameter with a height of 50 cm, and a large model 69 cm in height. The standard total height, cable included, is 250 cm. The cable can be shortened during installation to suit your ceiling.

Line up 2 or 3 small sizes to get a dining room pendant light, or one for a kitchen island, that lights the full length of the surface. In a living room, a stairwell or a bedroom, one large size is enough to create a focal point. You can also mix sizes and finishes to compose a custom cluster.

Finally, the BOND pendant light coordinates with the wall sconce, ceiling light and table lamp from the same collection, for consistent lighting throughout the home.

A 4 W G9 pendant light with warm light

The pendant light works with a 4 W LED bulb with a G9 base, included, which delivers about 470 lumens of warm light at 2700 K. A single bulb is enough to set the mood. This G9 pendant light is dimmable, to suit a dinner as well as a quieter evening.

Its IP20 protection rating makes it suitable for dry rooms: avoid locations exposed to steam or splashing water. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
