The BOND wall sconce by Sans Souci brings together two glass discs, one convex and one concave, around a light source placed at their center. Designed by Martin Opl, it seems to float in front of the wall and changes appearance with the brightness of the room. Available in 3 diameters and 3 finishes, it suits a living room, a bedroom, a hallway or a dining room.

A designer wall sconce with a double glass disc

The design of BOND rests on a simple principle: two pieces of glass face each other, one curved outward, the other hollowed inward, and the light is born between the two. This designer wall sconce thus takes the form of a double disc, held by a polished stainless steel structure that stays discreet and leaves all the room to the glass.

Switched off, it behaves like a tinted mirror that catches the daylight. Switched on, it reveals its luminous core through the glass. Its surface reflects and transmits light differently depending on the brightness of the room: the sconce therefore changes appearance over the hours and the seasons, never showing the same image twice.

A sandblasted glass sconce with metallic reflections

Each disc is made of clear glass, sandblasted on its inner face to soften the light. A metallic nano-coating then tints the glass and gives it its mirror shine. This glass sconce comes in 3 finishes: Silver, Gold and Rose.

Silver extends light-colored walls and pared-back interiors. Gold warms up a neutral wall and echoes brass or wood. Rose brings a softer shade, halfway between the two.

The glass pieces are shaped by hand in the Czech Republic, in the Sans Souci workshops. Slight variations in shape and tint are part of the charm of each piece.

Which wall sconce size should you choose: 30, 40 or 50 cm?

The BOND sconce comes in diameters of 30, 40 and 50 cm, with a projection of 14.5 cm, 18.8 cm and 23 cm. Choose the diameter according to the viewing distance you have. The 30 cm size suits a hallway or a bedroom, on either side of the bed. The 40 and 50 cm sizes dress a section of wall above a sofa, a console table or a dining room sideboard.

Used alone, this living room wall sconce creates a sculptural point of light. As a pair, it frames a mirror or a headboard. In a series of different sizes, it composes a rhythmic wall display, like a constellation of discs on the wall.

It also pairs with the BOND pendant light, ceiling light and table lamp, which feature the same double glass disc. You can thus light an entire room with a single signature.

A dimmable G9 wall sconce with warm light

The sconce works with a 5 W LED bulb with a G9 base, included, which gives off a warm 2700 K light, softened by the sandblasted glass. This G9 wall sconce is dimmable, so you can go from mood lighting in the evening to a stronger light when the room needs it.

It runs on 220-240 V and has an IP20 protection rating, which makes it suitable for dry rooms: avoid locations exposed to steam or splashing water. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
