Pendant Light | RISA

A very large black aluminum circle suspended horizontally by thin transparent cables, this large LED pendant light is first seen as a shape, before revealing itself as powerful lighting. Designed by Thoro, the Risa pendant light comes in 90 cm or 120 cm in diameter, for a total height of 160 cm, with 3000 K warm white light.

A black pendant light in the shape of a large ring

The profile of the Risa pendant light stays narrow, so the circle seems to float in the middle of the room. When switched off, it reads as a dark, regular line above the furniture. It is a lot of light for very little material.

The entire inner face of this black pendant light diffuses the light: the LED module runs along the whole circumference. The brightness comes from everywhere at once, which softens the shadows cast on the table and on the faces of the guests.

An LED chandelier of 73 W or 98 W

This LED chandelier houses an integrated source that is included. According to the manufacturer's data, the 90 cm version delivers 73 W for nearly 9700 lumens, and the 120 cm one reaches 98 W for almost 13000 lumens. These values place Risa among the light fixtures capable of replacing all the lighting of a large room.

The color rendering index reaches 93: fabrics, wood species and dishes keep shades very close to those seen in broad daylight. The manufacturer also highlights flicker-free light, an argument that carries weight in a room where people work or where children do their homework. The light fixture runs on 220-240 V and has an IP20 protection rating, for dry rooms.

A 3000 K warm white light

The 3000 K warm white suits living rooms and dining rooms, less so workshops where a cooler light is generally preferred. Plan for a well-placed switch, because the start-up is abrupt.

Also think about evening use. With such a flux, many households prefer to pair Risa with an accent lamp and turn it on only when the whole room needs to be lit, for a meal with several people or an evening with friends.

A pendant light for living room, dining room or hall: choosing the diameter

The 90 cm circle finds its place above a table for 6 people or a standard-sized living area. The 120 cm one needs space around it: reserve it for spacious living rooms, halls and meeting rooms with a high ceiling. In an open living space, this living room pendant light placed above the seating area marks out a space without any partition. Leave at least 1 m between the edge of the ring and the nearest wall.

The transparent cables are adjusted during installation and allow the ring to be lowered up to 160 cm below the ceiling. Under a 250 cm ceiling, it is better to raise it as high as possible and reserve the large diameter for more generous spaces. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Given the diameter, a second person is essential to hold the circle during fixing; then check that it is level from two opposite sides of the room.

With its 90 cm or 120 cm black ring, its almost 13000 lumens at maximum and its color rendering index of 93, the Risa pendant light by Thoro combines a simple shape with truly generous lighting. Made in Poland, it lights a large living room on its own.
