Pendant Light | LEHDET

A large openwork steel leaf, suspended at an angle as if carried by the wind, this large designer pendant light dresses generous spaces like a sculpture. From Thoro, the Lehdet pendant light, whose name means "leaves" in Finnish, measures 110 cm long by 80 cm wide and comes in white, black and gold.

A steel pendant light shaped like a leaf

The Lehdet pendant light is crossed by ribs that radiate from the light source. Its cutouts let the eye and the light through: seen from below, the structure draws a radiating pattern that recalls the veins of a leaf or the ribs of a parasol.

Hung at a slant, this steel pendant light looks light despite its dimensions. It occupies the space like a work of art rather than a classic light fixture and becomes the focal point of the room. When lit, it casts the shadows of its ribs on the ceiling and nearby walls, in a play of lines that changes depending on where you stand.

An E27 pendant light for a 15 W LED bulb

Lehdet works with an E27 LED bulb with a maximum power of 15 W. The bulb is not included, which lets you freely choose its shade and shape. The fixture runs on 220-240 V and has an IP20 protection rating, for indoor use in dry rooms.

The choice of bulb changes the result. A clear bulb draws sharply cut shadows on the ceiling, a frosted bulb softens them and gives a more uniform light. For a living room or a dining room, a warm white around 2700 K creates a welcoming atmosphere in the evening.

Gold, black or white pendant light

The gold pendant light brings a precious touch. Above a large wooden table, it warms the atmosphere and echoes brass or bronze accessories, especially with a warm white bulb.

The black version asserts the graphic quality of the leaf: in a stairwell or a hall with white walls, its dark lines stand out clearly and give structure to the volume. The white version blends into a light ceiling and mostly lets the pattern of the ribs show. It suits a bright interior, where you want an airy effect rather than a strong contrast.

A pendant light for a dining room, staircase or high-ceilinged living room

Thoro intends this pendant light primarily for generous volumes: hotel lobbies, restaurants, large entryways or apartments with high ceilings. Above a long table, this dining room pendant light follows the elongated shape of the tabletop. In a staircase or on a mezzanine, several leaves hung at different heights make up a spectacular installation. In a living room with a high ceiling, a single one is enough to inhabit the space above the lounge area.

At 110 cm, it needs room: under a standard ceiling, check that the tilted leaf will not get in the way of the passage. The suspension length is adjusted during installation, up to 150 cm in height, which lets you choose the exact tilt. Plan on two people to hold the leaf while the cables are adjusted. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. A feather duster or a dry cloth is enough for maintenance.
