A black steel frame stretched horizontally, from which thin cables descend ending in oval tubes, this industrial pendant light looks less like a lamp than a small construction suspended in the air. Designed by Thoro, the Rana pendant light comes in 2 versions: a 61 cm frame with 1 tube and a 100 cm frame with 2 tubes, to be fitted with GU10 bulbs.

The regular frame of the Rana pendant light serves as a geometric reference and contrasts with the tubes that hang freely below. This contrast between the straight line and the moving element makes up the whole design of the model. When switched off, it keeps its graphic interest: the frame draws a clean rectangle under the ceiling.

The matte black steel of this black pendant light gives a raw look, close to workshop furniture. It goes with concrete, brushed metal and furniture with exposed structures. Only 6 cm wide, the frame marks a precise point without crowding the space.

A GU10 pendant light with 1 or 2 light sources

The version with 1 tube is 61 cm long and drops down to 175 cm: it lights a desk, a console or a table for 4 people. The version with 2 tubes reaches 100 cm in length and 200 cm in height. Its two points of light are spread along the frame and cover a longer table.

On this GU10 pendant light, the oval tubes house the lamp holders and channel the light downward. The lighting stays concentrated on the targeted surface, without a diffuse halo on the surrounding walls. The light fixture runs on 220-240 V and has an IP20 protection rating, for indoor use in dry rooms.

Which GU10 LED bulbs to choose

Each tube takes one GU10 LED bulb of 10 W maximum, to be purchased separately. You are therefore free to choose the beam angle and the color of the light. For a worktop, a bulb with a narrow beam concentrates the lighting. For a dining atmosphere, a wider angle remains more pleasant.

On the version with 2 tubes, take two bulbs of the same model, otherwise the two illuminated areas will have neither the same color nor the same intensity. Also check that the two beams have the same angle, for an even result from one end of the table to the other.

A pendant light for the kitchen, dining room or office

Above a worktop, this kitchen pendant light brings the light down as close as possible to the surface, where you cut and prepare food. Above a dining table, set the tubes high enough so that the frame does not block the view between people sitting face to face. In a restaurant or a bar, several frames lined up form a regular grid of light above the counter.

The cables are adjusted during installation, which makes it possible to adapt the height of the tubes to that of the ceiling and of the furniture being lit. The ceiling canopy measures 15 cm on the small model and 45 cm on the large one, with a width of 5 cm. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Then step back a few paces to check that the frame is parallel to the edge of the table, and dust the cables and the top of the frame from time to time with a soft, dry cloth.

With its 61 cm or 100 cm black steel frame, its hanging oval tubes and its downward-directed light, the Rana pendant light by Thoro brings a bold, industrial geometry above the table. Made in Poland, it is fitted with GU10 bulbs of your choice.

We will provide you with the return address within 24 to 48 business hours. The return shipping costs remain your responsibility, but in certain cases we may provide you with a prepaid return label. Our customer service will confirm this to you directly.
As soon as you send us proof of shipment of the package, your refund will be initiated within 48 to 72 hours.
