A perfectly circular ring of light, hung horizontally by thin cables, this LED ring pendant light looks drawn in a single stroke beneath the ceiling. By Thoro, the Rio pendant light comes in 1, 2 or 3 rings, in 3 diameters from 55 cm to 110 cm and up to 7 finishes, with light in 3000 K or 4000 K.
A circle pendant light with a very thin aluminum profile
The aluminum profile of the Rio pendant light is only 8 mm wide and 40 mm high. This thinness makes the structure disappear: when on, the light fixture looks like a luminous ring floating beneath the ceiling; when off, like a simple line of color in the space.
The LED is integrated into the profile and lights downward along the entire circumference. The light falls evenly, with no hot spot and no pronounced cast shadow. Above a table, the ring therefore lights every guest in the same way, with no shadowed area at the end of the tabletop.
An LED chandelier from 23 W to 100 W, with a very high CRI
Depending on the model, this LED chandelier delivers from 23 W to 100 W, for a flux of 3000 to over 13000 lumens according to the manufacturer's data. The light source is integrated and included. A single light fixture can therefore be enough to light a large room.
The manufacturer states a color rendering index of 93 at 3000 K and 98 at 4000 K. This is a very good level, which shows off materials and hanging artwork. The light fixture runs on 220-240 V and has an IP20 protection rating: install it in dry rooms, away from steam and splashes.
Chandelier with 1, 2 or 3 rings, from 55 cm to 110 cm
The 1-ring version remains the simplest: a 55 cm, 78 cm or 110 cm circle, to be centered above a table or a living area. The 2-ring version, in 78 cm, combines two circles of different diameters, offset in height, and occupies the space in three dimensions. The 3-ring chandelier, in 110 cm, makes a true centerpiece, best reserved for spacious living rooms, entrance halls and high ceilings.
To choose the diameter, compare it with the width of the table or furniture: a ring slightly narrower than the tabletop always gives good proportions. In a double-height entryway or a stairwell, the 2- or 3-ring versions can be seen from several levels, like a sculpture.
Gold, black or white pendant light for living room or dining room
White and beige almost disappear under a light ceiling: once the chandelier is on, only the circle of light remains visible. Black draws a crisp, graphic line, perfect above a solid wood table. The gold pendant light, like the polished gold and red ochre finishes, brings warmth and a precious touch, a success in a living room dressed in velvet or marble. Olive green pairs with light wood, linen and green plants.
In a living room, this living room pendant light placed above the coffee table marks off the lounge area and gives the room structure. The cables let you lower it to 150 cm beneath the ceiling: allow about 70 cm between a table and the bottom of the ring. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Plan on two people for the large diameters and check that the circle is level before locking the cables; a soft, dry cloth is enough for upkeep.
With its 8 mm aluminum ring, its 3 diameters and its compositions of up to 3 circles, the Rio pendant light by Thoro brings pure geometry and generous light to the ceiling. Made in Poland, it comes in 3000 K or 4000 K depending on the atmosphere desired.
