Pendant Light | RIO (Vertical)

A ring of light hung vertically, like a hoop floating in the air, this LED circle pendant light is meant to be seen from the front and turns the light fixture into a graphic object. By Thoro, the vertical Rio pendant light comes in diameters of 55 cm, 78 cm or 110 cm, as well as in compositions of 3 or 5 aligned circles, in 3000 K or 4000 K.

A ring pendant light to be seen from the front

Hung vertically, the ring of the Rio pendant light reads as a perfect circle from the center of the room. It frames whatever lies behind it: a mirror, a window or a section of wall. This simple change of orientation, compared with the horizontal chandelier from the same collection, makes it a decorative element in its own right.

The profile of this ring pendant light is made of aluminum and is only 8 mm wide. The line of light therefore stays very thin and the structure never weighs down the silhouette. The light is diffused from the inside of the circle, which creates a soft halo around the light fixture and enveloping ambient lighting.

An LED pendant light from 23 W to 173 W depending on the model

This LED pendant light houses an integrated light source that is included. Depending on the diameter, the power ranges from 23 W to 47 W for the 1-ring models, and rises to 173 W for the 5-circle version. The light fixture runs on 220-240 V and has an IP20 protection rating, for use in dry rooms.

The Rio collection also includes a chandelier and a ceiling light built on the same ring. You can therefore carry the circle motif through several rooms without changing families, for example a vertical pendant light in the bedroom and a horizontal chandelier in the living room.

1 ring or a composition of 3 or 5 circles

The 55 cm circle fits easily beside a bed, a dressing table or a console: it is the most discreet version. The 78 cm and 110 cm diameters need ceiling height, but offer a spectacular effect in return. Several single rings hung at different heights also make up a free-form installation, to be adapted to the shape of the room.

The versions with 3 or 5 aligned rings, 160 cm and 170 cm long, dress a large wall or accompany a long counter. In a shop, a hair salon or a reception area, they mark out the space while lighting it broadly.

Bedroom or living room pendant light, in up to 7 finishes

Placed beside the bed or above a dressing table, this bedroom pendant light replaces a wall sconce and provides soft light for the evening. In a living room, it hangs in front of a free wall or near a bookcase. White and beige barely stand out from the wall, the black pendant light underlines the geometry of the circle in broad daylight, gold and polished gold add a warm reflection, and red ochre and olive green go well with raw materials.

The pendant light hangs down to 150 cm and is adjusted during installation. Check that the circle is plumb from two angles before locking the cables, and keep the ring away from narrow walkways to avoid knocks. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. For the large diameters, plan on two people to hold the ring during installation; a soft, dry cloth is enough for upkeep.
