With its rounded steel plates, lined up like the links of a chain, this designer metal pendant light passes the light along in rhythm above the table. Signed by Thoro and designed by the Ryzy studio, the Chain pendant light comes in lengths of 91 or 158 cm, in sixteen matte shades and in two light temperatures, 3000 K or 4000 K.
A designer steel pendant light, drawn like a chain
The Chain pendant light lines up a series of rounded plates horizontally, linked together by luminous cylinders. Hung above a table, this steel pendant light, 10 cm wide, looks like a series of giant links. The design, signed by the Ryzy studio, gives a linear light fixture an almost sculptural presence.
The plates frame each point of light and limit glare from the sides. Seen from the side, the pendant light keeps a graphic silhouette, even when switched off. The matte finish avoids reflections and lets the color express itself boldly, day and night.
An LED pendant light that lights in two directions
Each gap between two plates holds a luminous element. According to the manufacturer, the light is emitted in two directions: it lights the table while giving presence to the pendant light itself, whose links light up from the inside. This LED pendant light is delivered with its integrated source, with no bulb to plan for.
With a color rendering index of 93, the dishes, the wood of the table and the fabrics keep their true colors. Warm white 3000 K creates a friendly atmosphere above a dining table. Neutral white 4000 K is preferable above an island where you cook often, because it makes movements more precise.
A 91 or 158 cm pendant light: choose according to the table
The 91 cm version, of about 10 W, delivers nearly 1300 lumens in 3000 K. It suits a table for four people or a small island. The 158 cm version, of about 20 W and more than 2500 lumens, goes with a large dining table or a long worktop.
For this kitchen island pendant light or for a table, choose a length at least 60 cm shorter than the tabletop: the ends of the chain then stay above the table, and not above the chairs. The total height reaches 200 cm and is adjusted at installation. Place the chain about 70 cm above the tabletop so that the light stays comfortable for guests.
A colorful pendant light in sixteen matte shades
White, beige and taupe blend into a light kitchen or a natural wood dining room. Black, mocha and brown draw an assertive line above a dark wood table. Burgundy, red, ochre red, peach, pink and yellow make this colorful pendant light a decorative element in its own right, while sage, olive green, azure blue and ultramarine bring a more serene note. The collection also includes a 91 cm wall sconce, to repeat the link motif on a neighboring wall.
The pendant light is fixed to the ceiling by a rectangular ceiling canopy. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Adjust the horizontality of the cables before locking the height, especially on the 158 cm version, where the slightest deviation shows from one end to the other. The light fixture runs on 220-240 V and has an IP20 protection rating, for dry rooms. A soft, dry cloth is enough to dust the plates.
With its lined-up steel links, its light in two directions, its two lengths and its sixteen colors, the Chain pendant light by Thoro sets the rhythm of the table with an original line of light. Made in Poland, it can be chosen in 91 or 158 cm, in warm white 3000 K or neutral white 4000 K.
