Wall Sconce | KLOVER

A steel plate cut into waves and, in its center, a tube bulb running the full height: this retro wall sconce makes the light source an element of the decor. Designed by Thoro, the Klover sconce is 66 cm high, comes in sixteen matte colors and takes a bulb with an S14d base.

The Klover sconce combines two elements: a steel plate with a wavy outline, set against the wall, and a vertical light tube. It measures 66 cm high by 43 cm wide and only 5 cm deep. With this generous size, it takes up a good part of a narrow wall panel: plan the mounting height before drilling.

The plate serves as a backdrop and sends part of the light back toward the wall. The outline of this steel wall sconce then stands out clearly and creates a soft shadow all around. The collection also includes a Klover ceiling light of the same design, with three tubes, in the same color palette.

A sconce with an S14d tube bulb and a soft light

The S14d base tube bulb remains visible along its whole length. It recalls street lamps and dressing-room mirrors, and gives the sconce an unashamedly retro look. The light is diffuse and moderate: Klover is an ambient sconce, to be installed in addition to a ceiling light or a pendant light.

The sconce accepts an LED bulb with a maximum power of 3.5 W, not included. As the tube remains exposed, choose clear glass if you like to see the filament, or frosted glass for a softer light. A very warm shade, around 2200 to 2700 K, reinforces the vintage spirit. The sconce is rated IP20, for indoor use in dry rooms.

White, beige and taupe give a soft version, where the wavy cutout is read mostly through the shadow cast on the wall. Black, mocha and brown create a marked contrast with the bulb lit, very effective in a room with light walls.

Ocher red, burgundy, red, peach, pink and yellow make Klover a colorful wall sconce with a vintage spirit, perfect in a bedroom. Sage, olive green, azure blue and ultramarine complete the range with more subdued shades, easy to combine with wood and linen.

A wall sconce for the bedroom, the living room or the hallway

On either side of a headboard, two sconces form a symmetrical composition: a bedroom wall sconce that replaces bedside lamps. In a living room, they frame the sofa in place of two side lamps. In a hallway or a stairwell, the wavy plate breaks the monotony of a long wall. Above a dressing table or an entryway console, it lights the face in a soft, even way.

The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. To change the bulb, switch off the power, let the tube cool and handle it by its ends. The steel plate can be dusted with a soft, dry cloth.
