The push switch module by Buster + Punch is a spring-return toggle mechanism that returns to its position by itself after each pulse. It measures 1.72 cm wide by 4.5 cm high, accepts 10 A at 220 to 250 V and is sold on its own, without plate or toggle.

A toggle push-button with momentary contact

This push-button takes the form of a toggle. You flip it, it makes contact, then the spring returns it to its starting position. The contact lasts only as long as the press.

This electrical module therefore does not switch a light directly. It sends a pulse to the device that controls the light, whether a multi-way dimmer or a home automation system.

It is not compatible with conventional one-way, two-way or intermediate switch wiring. For these circuits, the brand offers its two-way switch and intermediate switch modules.

Multi-way dimmer and home automation: its uses

Combined with the Buster + Punch multi-way dimmer module, it controls and dims a light from several places. A short press switches the light on or off. A long press raises or lowers the brightness.

It is also suitable for home automation installations and for in-line modules that accept control by momentary contact. Compatibility depends on the system chosen, so have it checked by your installer before buying.

The module accepts a maximum of 10 A at 220 to 250 V. It is not suitable for motors, fans or other large inductive loads. Nor is it suitable for damp environments.

Wall plate and toggle kit to plan for

The package contains 1 toggle push module, without plate or decorative toggle. It is completed with a wall plate with inserts from the brand, from 1 to 4 gang. The plate without inserts, reserved for sockets and data modules, is not suitable.

You also need a toggle finishing kit, which combines the solid metal toggle and its nut. You choose linear knurling, called Linear, or cross knurling, called Cross, and its finish from brass, steel, smoked bronze, black and white.

The assembly is fitted on a European-standard wall box, mounted flush with the wall. For hollow walls, the brand offers its Back Box wall box, sold separately. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
