This surface-mounted spotlight takes the form of a small cylinder fluted from top to bottom, fixed directly to the ceiling, which projects a beam of light toward the floor. Designed by Thoro, the Ivar spotlight is 12 cm high, comes in ten colors and gives the ceiling spotlight the texture of a piece of ceramic.

A fluted cylindrical spotlight with character

Most surface-mounted spotlights settle for a smooth tube. The flutes of the Ivar spotlight catch the ambient light and bring the surface to life, so the light fixture stays pleasant to look at even when switched off. At 12 cm high and about 6.5 cm in diameter, this cylindrical spotlight remains compact and discreet on the ceiling.

The body is made of aluminum. When the ceiling does not allow recessed spotlights, for example under a concrete slab, Ivar offers a decorative surface-mounted solution. The same colors are available in the Ivar wall sconce and pendant light from Thoro, so it is easy to coordinate all the light fixtures in a single space.

An 8 W LED ceiling spotlight with a 36° beam

The integrated 8 W LED delivers just over 1000 lumens at 3000 K, with a color rendering index of 90 that respects materials and shades. The 36° beam draws a well-defined circle of light on the floor or on a piece of furniture. This LED ceiling spotlight highlights a precise area rather than the whole room.

Place it directly above whatever you want to light: at a height of 2.50 m, the beam forms a circle about 1.50 m in diameter on the floor. Two shades are available, 3000 K warm white for a living room, a bedroom or an entryway, and 4000 K neutral white for a kitchen, an office or a walk-in closet. The spotlight runs on 220-240 V and has an IP20 protection rating, for dry rooms.

A ceiling spotlight available in ten colors

White blends into the ceiling and mainly lets the beam show. Beige and taupe stay discreet while adding a warmer nuance. The black spotlight and the mocha stand out clearly on a white ceiling and go well with dark faucets, metal frames and boldly designed furniture.

Olive green, red ochre, burgundy, peach and ultramarine make the spotlight an unexpected colorful detail. Repeat the shade in a cushion or a vase to tie the whole room together. In a single space, keep the same light temperature for all the spotlights, to avoid patches of different shades.

Spotlights for the kitchen, hallway or living room

A single spotlight above a console, an armchair or a plant creates a focal point. Aligned in a hallway or above a countertop, several spotlights make up a rhythmic, even lighting scheme. As a kitchen spotlight, a series above the island complements the general lighting: choose 4000 K for preparing meals, or 3000 K in a kitchen open to the living room.

The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. The spotlight is fixed to the ceiling on a mounting plate, following the instructions provided. If you are installing a series, mark out the alignment before drilling: the slightest offset is noticeable on a line of spotlights. For maintenance, a soft brush is enough to remove the dust lodged in the flutes.
