The French socket module by Buster + Punch is a 2P+E type E socket, in the 45 mm format, to be fitted on a modular wall plate. It measures 4.5 cm by 4.5 cm, handles 16 A at 250 V and comes in black or white.

A type E socket, the French standard

This module is a type E socket, the French and Belgian standard with an earth pin. The brand's instructions describe it as a type C + E socket: it therefore also accepts 2-pin type C plugs, without earth.

It is a 2P+E socket, which connects to live, neutral and earth. Its 3 terminals are marked on the module.

Buster + Punch sells it on its own, as a mechanism to be paired with a plate. You can thus make up a single socket, or combine it with other modules on a multi-gang plate.

16 A socket: load, dimensions and connection

This 16 A socket handles a maximum of 16 A at 250 V, at 50 Hz. These are the values the brand gives on its technical data sheet and in its instructions.

The module is 4.5 cm wide by 4.5 cm high. It is a 45 mm module, the format shared by the sockets and data modules in the range.

The wires are connected to the terminals, then the module clips into the plate's support frame. It is for dry rooms only and is not suitable for damp environments. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Black or white socket: wall plate and installation

The module is made of plastic, in black or white as you prefer. The color is chosen to suit the plate: black stands out against brass or steel, white stays discreet on a white plate.

The pack contains 1 module, without a plate. The wall plate is ordered separately, in 1, 2, 3 or 4 gang, in brass, steel, smoked bronze, black or white.

The module fits only Buster + Punch modular electrical plates, with or without inserts. Each opening takes 1 module of this format. The plate is then fitted onto a European standard wall box, mounted flush with the wall. For hollow walls, the brand offers its Back Box wall box, sold separately.
